I just got done cataloging the last of my DVDs, it comes in at just under 3,000. I would say out of the three grand probably 85 percent would be considered "non-mainstream." The exact type of thing that I would review on this very site.
I have always had big hopes for this blog. I really can't complain, just about every post generates a nice amount of hits. When I don't post something new for a while traffic goes down. Not a real mystery, what I have to do to generate traffic. It's just a matter of getting of my lazy ass and doing something about it.
So with that in mind I have decided to challenge myself. I plan on watching "at least" one move a day and doing a decent write up of it on here. It will start on Sept 1st of this year and run until Sept. 1st of 2013. That's 365 reviews in one year.
Now, I know better than anybody shit happens. My youngest son has been sick for the last few weeks with a bit of a perplexing illness. There was very little time to watch movies in that space of time. A year is a long time, so conditions beyond my control are bound to keep me from watching every day. With that in mind here are some ground rules:
1. I will do my best to post a review of 1 movie a day. I will allow myself a leeway of no more than three days between reviews. If it's three days between reviews there will be three new reviews that day.
2. I get on certain kicks, so there might be a week of Hong Kong movie reviews, and a week of Edgar Wallace movies the next. I'm going to try my hardest to keep this interesting so expect a pretty eclectic mix.
3. If you have any request feel free to email me here.
So, that's about it. It will be a challenge but I believe I'm up for the task. It should also be known that regular feature articles will still be published during this year. This is just a good reason for me to actually start watching some of this huge collection I've built.
