Custom Van Artwork

So it all started when I saw a rather lurid piece of art by the always entertaining Robin Bougie, the man responsible for the awesome film zine Cinema Sewer. I don't remember when I had saw this particular drawing but it had been a while ago.

Fast forward to present day, I had just bought my 1977 Ford Custom E-150 and I was looking to celebrate by buying some van artwork. I remembered Robins picture from a couple of months ago and inquired about purchasing it.

The bad news it was sold a long time ago, the good news is I could commission my own drawing for a real decent price. The deal was made and  short time later this showed up in my mail box.
Awesome, I know

He titled it "Thundarr Van Girl", click for a bigger image.

So once I got that in I started thinking how cool it would be to see my van in a piece of custom art.I emailed some friends and made some arrangement's. I'm still waiting on a coupe of pieces but understand it might take some time to get them in. Below is what I have so far, notice how similar they turned out without either person knowing what the other was doing, weird!

This one is by Hoyt Silva, it turned out great and he was
cool enough to not draw some of the dings on the real life
van I sent him reference pictures of.

This was done by Spanish artist Antonio Jesus
Interesting how two different artist can draw almost
the exact same picture and turn out totally different.

So how well did they do, check out the reference picture I sent them below.

Pretty damn good I think.

If you like these check out my van Post Apocalyptic style here.
